STATEMENT BY MAYOR OF DUNEDIN

(PKISS ASSOCUTIOJT TILIOHAM.) DUNEDIN, March 30. According to the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox), speaking at the City Council to-night, tlje question of picture theatres opening on the evening of Anzac Day has been definitely settled. During discussion of an application by a dance-hall proprietor for a permit to open on April 25, Mr Cox said that as no pictures would be open anywhere in New Zealand on that night there was no need to discuss the matter.
