PIGEON FLYING
EAST CHRISTCKURCH CLUB The East Christchurch Flying Pigeon Club flew a race from Parnassus on Saturday. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 1 p.m., in fine weather, and with good conditions throughout the journey, fast times were recorded. The winner was Mr G. MacDougall's Jim Stassart, which flew the distance of 74 miles 423 yards air-line in lhr 33min 53sec. Results:— Yards a

The youngsters encountered rough weather during the journey; no birds homed on the day, and only four owners clocked in on Sunday. morning before the race closed. The race resulted in a win for Mr G. MacDougall's Miss McGugan, which flew the distance of 213 miles 1254 yards air-line in 9hrs Bmin 28sec, after allowth#» hours of darkness. Results:—
CHRISTCHURCH RACING CLUB The Christchurch Racing Pigeon Society flew off a young bird race from Parnassus on Saturday. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at noon. The favourable weather enabled them to put up fair times. The winning bird. Black Shadow, owned by R. Ball, flew the distance of 75 miles 20 yards in lhr 53Jmin. The following are the velocities:—
