An occasional shower or two probable at first, and possibly hail in places; but weather improving. Seas rough to rough oil shore. The official Dominion forecast is:— Weather cold, changeable, and squally, with passing showers in many places, but mainly in western districts, and the southern portion of the South Island. Conditions improving tomorrow. The last of the present series of Intense westerly depressions is classing New Zealand today. A slight anti-cyclone extends across the north Tasman Sea, and northern New Zealand, but pressure is again falling over Tasmania. Winds-Moderate to strong southwesterly to westerly, of gale force in many places, but decreasing to-morrow and later turning to northerly about and south of Cook Strait. Auckland—Tlie weather was boisterous yesterday. A fresh south-west wind made the temperatures cold, and there were frequent light showers. The barometer showed very little movement, being practically steady at 29.78 in, Wellington—Yesterday there was a strong and squally north-west wind; but the weather was otherwise fine and clear. The minimum temperature on Sunday night was 52 degrees; the maximum yesterday was 61.9 degrees. Dunedin—Though the sun shone brightly yesterday morning, there were threatening clouds in the sky, and a south-westerly wind of almost gale force was blowing. The barometer remained low all day, the reading being MJiOia early in the evening.
