ANNUAL BALL ON JULY 23

The United Football Club held its annual meeting at Springston South on Thursday evening, Mr J. S. Simpson presiding. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £9. There was a credit of £4 10s lOd in the Injured players’ fund, the expenditure having been £22 6s 4d. The following officers were elected:— Patron. Mr J. S. Simpson; president. Mr J. H. Williams: vice-presidents, Messrs M. D. Ryan, D. Marshall, W. Musson, P. V. Bailey, and W. Wright; secretary, Mr O. T. Bailey: treasurer, Mr J. Wright: committee, Messrs M. Cox, N. Musson, K. Greaves, K. Woods. M. Templeton, O. Heinlsch, and D. Halliday; first grade coach and selector, Mr J. Fraser: second grade coach and selector, Mr Miller; delegates to Ellesmere Sub-Union, Messrs D Marshall and K. Woods; auditor. Mr J. Fraser. The secretary was authorised to arrange a match with either Kirwee oi Sheffled for Easter Saturday. July 23 was chosen as the date for the annual ball.

The annual meeting of the Southbridge Rugby Football Club was presided over by Dr. E. W. Hunt. , .. . A lengthy review of last season s activities was given in the annual report. Messrs F. Lambie. G. Burt, A. Fincham, C. Lilley, A. Ridden, W. Stretz, A Lilley, and Robert Patterson; first grade selector, Mr J. Howatson sen.; second grade selector, Mr G. Burt; club captain. Mr W. M. Nidd; audUon Dr. E W. Hunt: trustees, Messrs L. R. Maw ana H G Hubbard; referees, Messrs L. Ebert, H. H. Heslop, and H. Hill.
