—- ; CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH Miss C. Henderson presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. A vbte of sympathy was passed to the relatives' of the late' Miss-Lucy Lovell-Smith. ' Members were invited to attend an afternoon social to be held by the North Canterbury District Union in the rooms on the thix*d Wednesday in' April, when reports of the convention will be given. . t Gn the motion of Miss. Blackwell, 1 a hearty vote of appreciation was passed to the president for her devoted and untiring service as honorary correspondening secretary for the Dominion council. ■ Members regretted that she had decided to retire this year. Miss Henderson said that the work had been a great pleasure, and one of her greatest interests.
