FLOWER SHOW

SPRINGBURN SCHOOL HIGHER STANDARD OP EXHIBITS The fourth annual show in connexion •with the Springbum School was very successfully held on Friday. The weather was fine and there were, good attendances in the afternoon and evening. Competition was good in, most classes and the general standard of exhibit was better than jin previous years. fudges were:—Mrs John Brown (home industries), Mr A;;j: Millichamp (flowers, fruit, arid vegetables); Mr J. W. Butterick (pets). Mrs E. Christiansen, Miss L. C. Cooke, and. Mr L. H. Barisgrove (school section). Mrs Brown said the cooking was much better than last year and Mr Millichamp congratulated the school on its display, which in . some aspects was up to metropolitan standard. He especially mentioned the roses for. their colour arid freshness, and the beetroot, which was as good as anything he had ever judged. The judges were, accorded a vote of thanks.
