HARVEST FESTIVALS AT WAIMATE
Harvest festival services were cele-; brated yesterday in the parish of St. Augustine. The evening service was held in Walmate and was taken by the Rev. A. H. Acheson. Madame Large sang two solos, an arrangement of ‘•Praise Ye the Lord,” by Giordslni, and “The Lord is My Light,” by.Oley Speaks. The harvest’gifts of produce and flowers formed the' decorations. They will be sent later to St. Saviour's Boys’ Home, Timaru. Mr L. Cliffe Stanford pl&yed organ voluntaries. Mr Acheson’s text was, “What is the 'chaff to the wheat” He drew-Uiany useful illustrations. from agricultural life. In the afternoon a service was held In the'Nukuroa Hall*. Studholme,
