Temperatures cool. A depression moved rapidly across the Dominion last night, and today an intense anti-cyclone extends from south-eastern Australia across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand. Winds—Moderate to strong southwed to south-east, decreasing over the Sooth Island. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather r ough to rough generally at first, but deereasing on the west coast. Eastern Tfeonan Sea—Light to fresh southerly I to south-easterly winds; moderate seas. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather during the week-end was very fine. The sun shone brightly throughout Saturday, but in the afternoon a fresh breeze sprang up. This K died down during the night and yesterday was brilliantly fine, with only a very light breeze until late in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was*3B.B degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky waa perfectly clear and a light easterly breeze was blowing. The temperature was 50 degrees. The barometer was steady and registered SO.llin. Wellington—The weather on Saturday was fine and sunny with a strong northerly wind turning to a southerly with some rain during tne night Yesterday was sunny with a moderate wmtherly gradually decreasing to calm in the evening. Dunedin-A light south-easterly hfwae on Saturday brought rain clouds, and, after a bright morning with a high temperature there was a Ridden change about midday when *«to fell The barometer fell sharply, but rose again during the afternoon.
