MR W.'J. JORDAN, M.P., TO GIVE ADDRESS
INVITATION FROM RETURNED SOLDIERS
Mr W. J. Jordan, member of Parliament for Manykau, has accepted the invitation of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association to give the address at the. Citizens’ Memorial Service in the King Edward; Barracks on Ahzac Day, April 25. He is himself a returned soldier. He was severely wounded in France. Mr Jordan'; has ■ been a member of Parliament since 1922, when he defeated the then Speaker, Sir Frederic Lang, He has taken an active interest in many questions affecting returned soldiers. He was born in Kent and was a coach painter, postal and member of the London Metropolitan Police Force. He has business and farming interests in New Zealand from 1904. In 1928 he represented New Zealand at tub Empire Parliamentary Conference in Canada. When his public duties permit he still fills the office of a Methodist local preacher.
