SUGAR PICTURES MAKE TOFFEE

Just toffee, you see, because so much sugar has been coming on board this last week. Each post has brought its sugar pictures. And each picture, drops six or more, sometimes a score of grains, on Lady Gay's desk, and sometimes on Lady Gay* It is really surprising, though, to find just how beautiful a sugar picture can be* Even Mother Bunch, who, of course, knows everything about pictures, opened her eyes very wide when she saw some of Lady Gay's collection. "I am astonished, Lady Gay," she said. "Most astonished." And her cap tilted right over her left ear, and her spectacles lost themselves, and haven't found themselves again yet. It will be difficult to find the best sugar picture when all are so good. The judging will take place next week, and the announcement will be in the page on the following Saturday. It is to be hoped that everyone and everything in the Cabin has not turned to toffee before then. Just one more thing. Next week we shall have a special "Hobbies Page." Winter is hobby time, you know, and Lady Gay has a very special "Hobby Surprise" hidden up her sleeve. She found it on the mountain top, you remember. Tom Tom, the Piper's son, has kindly consented to take charge of the-Hobbies Page for us. Send in your contribution, and help him, won't you? LADY GAY,
