MARY PRATT WINS MAIN event ■" I STRATOSPHERE’S SUCCESS —* v (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEOBAM.J^ CROMWELL, March 13. The Groniwell Jockey Club’s annual meeting opened .to-day in ideal weather. The attendance was about the same as it was last year, the receipts being down £4. This, however, was more than balanced by increased membership. In sjpite of three threehorse races and a very big dividend in the first trot, the totalisator handled £2027 against £2174 last year. The track was in good order, although somewhat dusty as the day wore on, and in spite of small fields some of the finishes were very close. The prospects are for fine weather on Saturday, and improved fields. Results: — GOLDFIELDS HACK HANDICAP, Of 50 sovs. Six furlongs. S—HENRY DAWSON by Rosenor— Earnscleugh 8-7 .. R.
