CHRISTCHURCH YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS There was a moderate turnover on call yesterday and prices of several, stocks dealt in showed an easing. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule, business, were:— LISTED STOCKS Sales on 'Change £ s. d.

Government New Zealand Government 4 per cent. Stock, due 1937-40, changed hands at £lO2 and there were further buyers at that price. Commercial Bank of Australia were firm with sellers and business at 20s sd, buyers at 20s 2d. E., S., and A. Bank shares were firm at £6 4s. National Bank of Australasia, £5 paid, appeared easier with buyers and business at £7 12s, sellers at £7 13s 6d. Bank of New South Wales were steady with buyers and dealings at £34 12s 6ri. Sellers of Bank of New Zealand reduced their limits to 46s 6d. Union Bank of Australia were weaker at £9 15s 6d. * Unsupported sellers of Standard Insurance reduced their limits to 63s 9d. Dalgety and Company dropped to £9 10s. Goldsbrough. Morts were weaker with sellers at 32s 9d. New Zealand Breweries changed hands at 52s 6d and 52s 7d, and these were buyers' and sellers' closing quotations respectively. Miscellaneous Dunlop Perdriau Rubbers dropped to 14s 4d and there were further sellers at that price, buyers at 14s 3d. Electrolytic Zinc ordinary were easier, with sellers at 38s Bd. Sellers of G. J. Coles came down to 725, buyers at 71s Bd. Howard Smiths, cum dividend, were easier at 16s Bd, ■ market closing 2d either way. Hume Pipe (Australia), cum dividend, were fractionally weaker at 17s. Mount Lyells were fractionally, firmer'with sellers and business at 24s 7d, buyers at 24s sd, Mahakipawas were steady at Id. Mount Morgans were a shade easier with sellers and dealings at 16s Id, buyers at 16s. Skippers changed hands at 2fd and more were offered at that price. SYDNEY Although the investment market on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday was calm in view of the more reassuring news of the European political situation, values continued to ease, but bank shares were relatively steady. Many of the more speculative company shares suffered furthei reverses. The gilt-edged section underwent little change. Silver, lead, and tin shares were firm but quiet.
