BLUFF-MELBOURNE SERVICE
NO EXTENSION TO WINTER months

. • INVERCARGILL, March 6. Tire Union Steam Ship Company has decided not to extend the BluffMelboume service for the winter months, and the service will be resumed in November. In a letter to the Southland League, the company says, that, in spite of the, large number of people who travelled to New Zealand and Australia by the Manama, the figuresfor the period from November 7 to February 16 showed a loss, without any provision for interest and depreciation. In the company's opinion an. additional round' voyage would increase the low. The company says it is doing its best-to provide a passenger service which will give satisfaction in the l south, but circumstances compel it to regard to the financial re-. BwnlfaL
