MANUAL UEPORT '

The ani\ual report of the Richmond HiU Golf Club, Sumner, shows the membership of the club to be as follows:—Men—Life, 5; active, 73; honorary, 4; absentee, 5. Women—Life, l; active, 65; honorary, 13; absentee, 3. Regret is expressed at the death of Mr E. G. Rawnsley, a foundation member and past president, who presented the Rawnsley and Cleek cups, and of Mr W. H. Cattell. Referring to the course the report states? "in 8 contrast to the ; «evtoua season, the winter months of the one just passed were remarkable^for their fine week-end weather, with the resuu that the course was in very mucn better playing order. New construction work has been pushed ahead on No. 6 green, and Nos. 4 and 6 tees. No. 2 tee was returfeet. Several drains have been put in where necessary. The pump has been giving trouble and numerous experiments have been made to overcome the difficulties, but complete satisfaction has not yet been reached. The club is greatly indebted to Mr E. T. Salvesen for the time ana work he has put in with the pumping plant. Towards the end of the year the old motor lorry gave out and was found to be beyond repair. The wreckage was disposed of for < £3, which was considered very satisfactory, as the cost had been written off in the club's accounts. As a lorry was necessary before the commencement of next season, the committee authorised a sub-committee to purchase another second-hand car or truck up to a value of £40." The financial statement shows an excess of income over expenditure for the year of £l9 0s 9d, and the balance-sheet shows the accumulated funds to be £683 18s.
