ASSISTANCE TO BRITAIN IN WAR
BIGGER CANADIAN AIR FORCE URGED
(Received February’l4, 7.10 p.m.) TORONTO, February 13. “In the event of another war Canada can best aid Britain by specialised equipment, and with a quota, of a highly trained personnel,” said Colonel Bishop, V.C., who was recently appointed Air Marshal in Canada. He told the Empire Club that troop-transportation by ship would be'almost impossible, “We cannot close our eyes to the possibility of .war ; in the near future,” he said. ‘The Mediterranean is draught with danger and the Air Force ,is inadequate. The Government should provide a fleet of modern aeroplanes immediately.”
