PRIVILEGE TICKET TRANSFERRED
CHARGE AGAINST ENGINEDRIVER'S WIFE

The transfer of a railway privilege ticket from an engine-driver's wife to a woman friend, who was not entitled to use it, led to charges being preferred by the police at Hamilton to-day. against Agnes Emma Mahuta Beaufort, Wh£ transferred a first-class concesr sion ticket, and also against Adeline Bradley, a waitress, at Te Awamutu, who procured it. Bradley approached Mrs Beaufort, asking her to obtain a privilege ticket for her to travel from Frankton to Wellington'. These tickets were available to the wives of railway servants at a quarter of the ordinary fare. To give her husband the impres* sion that she was travelling to Wellington, Mrs Beaufort stayed, with friends for several days. Bradley was fined £3. and Mrs Beaufort £2. with costs. ]
