CONDITION OF MEAT FOR SALE
TO THE EDITOR OJ THE' PRESS. Sir,—There is a lot in what "Clean Food" says about meat, etc. There is an urgent need for a peneral inspection of_all our fresh food methods. We pay well, whether it is fresh or stale, and it is an insult that we cannot always get what we pay for, clean. "Foggy" meat should not go into sausages or any other small goods, and stale meat should not have to be tolerated from any shop, small or large. We should not haye to eat fish that has had a long period in the ice box. All our food should be wrapped clean. No one should be allowed to wrap our fresh food in newspaper—bought from every Tom, Dick, and Harry. Yes, It is time we had a more rigid inspection in town and country. Our cream supply used for making butter could be more closely inspected. In conclusion, I consider we have some really clean, good tradespeople, and they should assist in seeing that all are in line, and made to be clean likewise.—Yours, etc., CLEAN FOOD NO. 2. January 20, 1936.
