In the Sunday competition, Cobden A secured a two-point win over Marist ™ - y . « 4 runs on the first innings. Marist B opened with 103, Marshall 31. E. Casey -24, .Mathews 14. D. East took five for 14, and, Lee three lor 10. Cob--25?, 'epHed-with the good, score of 237 for. eight at close of play, D. Knapo batting attractively to retire at 103. ' Lee (30 retired), D. Guy 28, R. Barlow 42 J. Guy 24, and Dewar (22 not opt) also batted well. Cornish (four Ar°« Yj S the most successful bowler. At Cobden yesterday, Cobden B, the competition leader, gained a two-point win oyer Runanga. Batting first, Cobden B made. 78, East 18, Pentecost 16. and Coom. 13. .Runanga made only--48, Smithson 18 being top-scorer. In' the-second innings Cobden made 54" .and Runanga had five down for 69 at -stumps. Bowling for Runanga Smithson took eight for 29, and for Cobden Coom took five for 14. ■ LlA.three-point win was secured by Marist over Kumara, at Kumara. Batting first, Marist scored 89, K Bayley 38,-R. Williams 17,"and Greenwood 15McGrath (five for 46), and Dalkie (four for 32) took the wickets. Kumara was all out for .35, Cooper 16, being the only batsman to stand up to the bowling of Gv Morris, who secured the fine average of eight for 21. In its second innings Marist made 87, E. Bayley 37.. Manning (four for 11), and McGrath, (three for 43) secured the wickets. In ! the second innings Kumara made 50,! McGrath 16. O.
