SUNBEAM KINDERGARTEN
Next year the seven kindergartens controlled by the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association will celebrate the silver jubilee of the kindergartens in Christchurch, but this week the small pupils have been too occupied with the Christmas parties to be verv interested in the plans being made by the committees for next year’s celebrations. The first kindergarten opened by the association was the Sunbeam Kindergarten (St. Albans), and it was there yesterday morning that the last of the Cl -istmas parties was held, a large number of visitors being present. Mrs Thacker, Miss Hull, and Mrs J. R. Evans (convener of the local committee) welcomed the guests, who enjoyed a programme of Christmas carols an<j games given by the children, who were later rewarded with gifts from the large Christmas tree, where a genial Father Christmas presided. Bouquets of flowers were presented to officials, and to Miss H. Gorrie (director), and the teachers, members of the committees, and Miss Hull also received gifts from the Christmas tree. Morning tea was served at the conclusion of the entertainment.
