RICHMOND SCHOOL JUBILEE
CONVERSAZIONE HELD The formation of an association of old pupils of the Richmond School was decided uponat the diamond Jubilee conversazione held at the BChool la*t evening. The proposal was made by Mr H. B. Kaye, jun., chairman of the jubilee committee, and seconded by Mr J. J. Flewellyn. The necessary steps will be discussed by the jubilee committee. The gathering was presided over by Mr H. E. Flesher. He asked those present to stand in memory of four old pupils of the school, Miss M, Wells, Mr J. A. Flesher, Mrs B. Low, and Mr Stephen Harper, all of whom had died since the golden jubilee celebrations. He also referred to, Mr Charles Garrard, a former pupil teacher at the school. Mr J. Taylor showed lantern slides illustrating the history of the school. The, following musical items were given:—Piano duet, “Marche Mllltaire” (Schubert). Messrs A. E. and R. Lilly; songs, “Why Should I?" and “The Gay Highway;" Mr A. Ward; piano solos, “The Musical Box” and “Spanish Dance,*’ Miss Lilian Harper; humorous monologues, Mr J, J. Flewellyn: instrumental trio, “Berceuse de Jocelyn,” Mrs Olds and the Misses Beck.
Community singing was led by Mr J. J. Flewellyn, with Mr R, Harrison, headmaster of the school, at the piano. The jubilee dinner will be held tomorrow evening. On Friday there will be a children’s day, with the jubilee ball in the evening', A churdh parade will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, Avonside, next Saturday afternoon. ■ 1 There- were about 300 present at the conversazione.
