SPRINGSTON SOUTH The monthly meeting of the Springston South Ladies' Wesley Guild was held at Mr§ J. Woods' home with Mrs E. J. Harris presiding. The guessing competition was won by Miss M. Smith. The competition for the bestdressed doll, judged by Misses G. B. Harvie and M. M. Smith, resulted:— Miss Hazel Greaves 1, Mrs J. Woods 2. The class for best sponge sandwich, which was judged by Mrs G. W. Tyson, resulted:—Mrs W. A. Keast 1, Mrs Banks 2. The, hostesses were Mrs C. Woods and Mrs S. Bray. Social Evening The prize-winners at the Springston South Hall Committee's social were Mrs P. Riordan and Miss M. Riordan. Messrs W. Leslie and E. H. Rowell. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr W. Leslie and Mrs S. Bray. Personal Miss' M. Woods is slowly improving after a serious operation in the Christchurch Public Hospital. Mr E. J. Harris is at present a pa,tient in the Christchurch Public Hospital. ■
