METHODIST CHURCH In the Heathcote Methodist Sunday School recently a farewell social was tendered to Miss Inez Bloxham, who has accepted a new position in Greymouth. There was a large attendance, over which thg Rev. P. T. Bead presided. The evening was spent In games, competitions, and a musical programme given by Mr Read. Mr and Mrs Silcock, Mrs Stevens, and Mr D. Zander. Several speakers spoke of the great help given by Miss Bloxham in all the activities of the church. Mrs Collins for the church members and friends, Mr Silcock for the choir, Mr W. J. Burnell for the Sunday School, and Miss Margaret Tulloch for her class pupils presented Miss BloxIjam with useful gifts. The anniversary services of the Heathcote Methodist Sunday School were held on Sunday, there being larpe congregations at all the services. The preachers were Mr A. G. Williams, the ,Rev. R. Thornley, and the Rev. F. T. Read. There was special singing .by the children, assisted by the choir and friends. A special feature was the singing by each individual class in the school. Soloists were Miss Ngaio Watkins and Ruth Burnell. Mrs Shrimpton was the pianist, with Messrs J. La Budde and P. Brooks playing violins, and Mr R. Connolly the cornet. Mr W. J. Burnell was the conductor. Personal Miss Inez Bloxham has left to tak» up a position in Gre'ymouth. Mrs A. R. Bloxham has left for a visit to her son on the West Coast.
