POLLS OF RATEPAYERS AT GREYMOUTH (SPECIAL TO Tfiß PRESS.) GREYMOUTH, December 4." Two loan proposals, involving £24,000, were carried by ratepayers to-day. The Grey Electric Power Board sought the sanction of ratepayers within the area to borrow £16,000 to raise the level of Kaimata dam to provide extra power and further reticulation. In a small poll, the proposal was carried by 598 votes. The figures were: For 677, against 79. The Greymouth Borough Council sought the sanction of ratepayers in the Cobden area to raise a loan of £BOOO for providing a water supply in Cobden. Another small poll resulted in the proposal being carried by a majority of 99, The voting was: For 150, against SI.
