SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The monthly sheeting of the Heathcote School Cominittee was held on Monday night, with Mr W. J. Burnell "presiding over a full attendance. The headmaster's report showed that the rpll number was 87, withanaverage attendance of 84. Standard VI. pupils had gone to the Woolston School to* sit for their proficiency examination. As there was a great deal of work to do on breaking-up day, It was suggested that the school concert be held on December 17, and a Father Christmas party, on the next day. The girls and boys were working hard for the school bazaar, to be held soon in aid of the picnic funds. A great mdny repairs were needed* and the Education Board was to be asked to consider the matter. Chnrclt IPmd© The Lyttelton branch of the St. John Ttffibulance Association held a church parade at the Heathcote Methodist Church. The preacher was the Rev. F. T. Bead.
