SAVAGE CLUB

SUCCESSFUL LUNCHEON HELD The first of a series of luncheqns, which it is proposed to hold during the recess period, was given by members of the Christchurch Savage Club at Bgath's tea-room yesterday, and itproved a highly successful innovation. Great Chief- W. S. Mac/Gibbon presided over an attendance of 45 members. •• '..•'. After the luncheon, Savage T. Cloudesley read out some old programmes of luncheons held by the club 25 years ago, some of which contained items by David Low, the famous caricaturist, who was then a member of the club, and other wellknown people. Items were given at the luncheon by 'Savage's. Farquhav Young (songs) and D. McKivett (musical monologue).
