WHIPPET RACING
ENTREATY WINS N.Z. CUP On Saturday, the New Zealand Whippet Racing Club held its New Zealand Cup meeting at Bushey Park, Riccarton. The principal event was won rather unexpectedly by Mrs il. A. Maddams's Entreaty, who, although beaten in the heut by a neck, 'scored in the final by a- similar margin from Mrs H. Nankivell's Sun Shower. A similar reversal of Conn took place in the Dominion Handicap, in which the winner, Mrs L. McKendry's Tom Thumb, was only third in his heat. Ockwell's Bingen Star (11yds) 1 The remainder of the entrants were from Woodend, und as a car break-down rendered them late, Bingeu Star was given a walk over. Time, 9£sec.
