CHKISTCHUJCH. BRANCH ] At die fortnightly meeting of tho j Christchurch branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union Mrs ,T. Richards presided, in the absence of Miss Henderson. A letter was read from the Mayoress (Mrs D. G. Sullivan') expressing gratitude to the members for their gifts )f clothing during the winter months for distribution amongst needy families. Miss Blackwell reported that a successful "homo" meeting had been held at Mrs Adkins' home. Members were reminded of the church parade to be held at the Trinity Congregational Church on Sunday evening, and they were asked to meet at the corner of the Government Buildings at o'.-la p.m. Dming ihe social hour songs were sung by the Misses Reeves and Cousins, and an amusing dialogue, "The Biowr. Paper Parcel," given by the Misses E. Grand and C. Menzies, was much appreciated. It was decided to hold another "bring and buy" sale at the next meeting and to hold the annual meeting on the second Wednesday in December.
