MR ELLSWORTH IN ANTARCTIC
PREPARATIONS FOR LONG FLIGHT SHIP WAITING FOR ICE TO BREAK i:P (By Radio, Special tn the United Press Association.) (Received November 5, 11.20 p.m.) ABOARD THE WYATT EARP, November 4. Mr Lincoln Ellsworth's expedition vessel is once more nestled in the familiar Antarctic ice pad;, sheltered by a snow island from the heavy westerly swell in which she wallowed for three days. The northern end of Eransfield Strait appears io be olocked by ice. However, the wind is .slackening and the ice is expected to clear soon and leave us free to make the eastward pa-sage. It is comparatively early in the Antarctic summer season, and at this latitude there is s.ill four hours' c'arkness a night. The sun is rapidly rising higher, and as soon as there is continuous daylight we will begin to look for early favourable weather to start the flight across the Antarctic.
