' The following is the Dominion Observatory's special weather forecast for Canterbury:— Strong southerly winds; weather cold and unsettled, with scattered rain. Seas rather rough to rough. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was brighter than for some days. However, it had clouded over again by the evening, and shortly after 8 o'clock a few spots of rain fell. Early this morning the sky was overcast without any wind. At 1 o'clock this morning the weather was cloudy and calm. The temperature v.-as 4G degrees. The barometer, falling, registered 29.65 Inches. The barometer fell until midday, and afterwards was Steady at 29.55 inches. Wellington—The weather was fine and pleasant yesterday, although in the afternoon it was mostly cloudy. The minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 48.2 degrees, and the maximum yeste.day was 62 degrees. Dunedin—The weather was unsettled yesterday morning, after fairly heavy rain. It improved, however, before midday and periods oi sunshine were recorded. In the afternoon there was a moderate to fresh south-west wind. and the maximum temperature was 54 degrees.
