A b P? s : fc« began best and led from Aeriel m, Frank Best, and Hot Point Cross-

ing the top Aeriel Bell took charge and Hot Point went after her, and, staying on solidly, beat her comfortably in 2min 52 l-ssec. Nellota made a good final effort but could only get third, being followed by her stablemate, Baron Alfonso. Proletarian turned round at the start and took no part in the race. Warpaint Improves Bingen Chief, after trailing "Wee Machine and Warpaint for four furlongs in the Jellicoe Handicap, worked his way to the front, and after the mile was passed in 2min 15sec slowed the field, with the result that the lot were well bunched passing the mile and a half in 3min 25sec. Crossing the top Smooger went fast and two furlongs from home he hit the front to lead round the turn from Warpaint, Bingen Chief. Nimbus, Kewpie's Triumph, and Willie Derby. With a good effort Warpaint headed Smooger. and holding off a final dash by Nimbus won nicely. Lady Coronado finished well for fourth, followed by Bingen Chief and Auto Machine. F. J. Smith's Double Bonny Azure went away tangling in the Parnell Handicap, and Lucky Love and Ironside led along the back, but making for the straight Bonny Azure went very fast to take charge passing the stands. She was followed by Ironside and Rayon d'Or, but passing the half mile post Our McKinney got clear and made a forward move. Bonny Azure was first into the straight from Ironside and Our Me Kinney, and this trio came away on their own, Bonny Azure hanging on to beat Ironside by half a length, with Our McKinney a neck away third. A long way back Worthy Chief headed the rest. Unhoppled Trotters A little slow to go away Worthy Nor soon settled down and led Young Rodney for the major part of the Mountain Handicap. Audo Patch and Captain Bolt were together handy with a lap gone, but the latter made a bad lapse. Setting out on the last half Worthy Nor increased her lead, but she tired in the run home and Young Rodney finished best to beat her and Audo Patch, who did not respond as well as expected when asked to go after the winner. Captain Bolt was fourth, with the other pair a long way back. From End to End Silver Watch was first out and first home in the October Handicap. He was early attended by the favourite. Kewpie's Bond, but down the back Luminate went fast after a poor beginning, and Parrish Belle was with Kewpie's Bond. She got a good run leaving the straight and trailed Silver Watch across the top, where Blandforc) ran up very fast to be second, but broke up. The favourite challenged the leader in the straight, but could not reach the grey. Rare Rey came with a good rattle for third, with Blandford next. A Fine Performance King's Play won the Stewards' Handicap with a fine effort. Going away well he made up his handicap early, and wjth a mile to go was handy to the leading pair. Replica and Kenworthy. King's Play joined Replica at the home turn and slaying on the better, got the decision. Kenworthy put up a good fight, but was not good enough and had to be content with third place. Kewpie's Crest, who was I last three furlongs from home, finished -well for fourth. Supertax Shows Speed Always well placed, Supertax came away in the straight to score a good win in the Electric Handicap. Edna Worthy led for six furlongs from Supertax and Trustworthy, but at the three furlongs Supertax took charge, with Manoeuvre running up fast and V/orthy Light and Smooger showing up. Supertax did best to beat Manoeuvre, with Herod, who was always in the picture, third, followed by Smooger and Worthy Light The second fancy, Ringtrue, swerved round at the start and lost all chance, TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME fTHE PBESS Special Service.!
