BURWOOD SCHOOL COMMITTEE

Mr. H. Rowse presided over the monthly. meeting of the Burwood School Committee. The headmaster's report stated that the attendance had been affected by sickness and the wet weather. The committee's finances welre reported to be satisfactory. It was decided to have the entrance drive to the school grounds regraded. Regret was expressed at the illness of Mr Bay Harrison, who had organised and acted as leader of the community singing, and had given valuable service in raising funds for the school. The chairman reported that arrangements were complete for a community sing, to be held to-night, when in addition to other artists a Maori concert party would assist with the programme. ' Mrs W. Kerr and Mr J. W. Betteridge were appointed a visiting committee for the month.
