SECURITY OF TENURE SOUGHT !.; ' (FSBM AfBOOUXXO* .TSMOUM.) . WELLINGTON, September 17. Lessees from the Ao?fea Maori Land Board waited on the Minister for Native Affairs (the Rt. Hon. S®. ",W. Forbes)
and asked that the Government should take steps to improve their leases. Mr H. J. Duigan emphasised the desirability; of obtaining security of tenure, both in.the lessees'interests and in that of the Maori owners. He also urged that the compensation provisions of the leases should be adequate. , Mr Forbes said he recognised the necessity for a clear and definite tenure.
