BUSINESS MEN'S LUNCHEON
A most successful "music, mirth and melody" luncheon was heM vesterda* by the Christchurch Business Max'* Club in Beath's tea-rooms. Mr P- J\ UConnell. who presided, expressed fcjjf pleasure at the large attendance, u 1 was gratifying to the executive, he said, that members had not overlook* so notable a programme as had been drawn up for them. Among the eafftamers was Mr Fred Bluett, the visitlnS Australian comedian. The programme was as follows: Mr A. E. Romeril humorous recitations. "Who are They?" and Tfce Worm Turned"; Mr W. Toomcy. ban; tone solos, "The Arrow and the Song" and "Hail, Caledonia": Mr Fred El** | humorous song and recitation, *W sweetheart," and "The Advertises Conference": Mr B A Malcdm. humorous ret tat on. "S:ldier Dn*: >£ f. Hockley, baritone solos. -Hilltops.' and -Drat 'Em." Mr C. J. Russell «** accompanist. A vote of thanks was passed to tl* artists by Mr D. V. Wilson, vice-Jtt** , dent of the club. \
