, CHRISTCHURCH YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS There was a good volume of diversified business on call yesterday, with activity in some industrials. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, were: LISTED STOCKS

Government New Zealand Government 3J per cent. Stock, due 1938-52, changed hands at £lO9, and there were further unsupported sellers at that price. A parcel-of Christchurch Tramway Board 4i per cent, debentures, due 1945, was dealt in at £lO5 ss. National Bank of New Zealand had dealings at 72s 3d, and more were offered at 73s buyers at 71s «!. Bank of New Zealand were firm, with sellers and business at 50s 9d, buyers at 50s 4d. A.P.A. had business at 22s 6d, and more were wanted at that price. New Zealand Insurance were firmer, with buyers and dealings at 645, sellers at 64s 3d. Buyers of South British Insurance raised their bids to 945, sellers at 94s 3d.' Goldsbrough, Morts were easier, with sellers at 31s 7d. Mortgage Corporation, 5s paid, were fractionally firmer at 6s 3d. A late sale of New Zealand Refrigerating, 10s paid, on September 14 was reported at 9s lid, and business yesterday was recorded at 10s, with further buyers at that price, sellers at 10s 2d. Timaru Brewery, 7s 6d paid, had business at 8s lOd and late offers of 8s 9d failed to attract sellers. Anthony Hordern were firmer on buyers' offers 19s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary were fractionally firmer, with dealings at 65s Id and 65s 3d. Claude Neon <N.Z.) moved up to 445, market closing Is either way. Dunlop Perdriau Rubbers were easier, with sellers and dealings at 14s. New Zealand Newspapers were steady at 39s 9d, and more were wanted at 39s lOd. Mining Gillespie's Beach, ex dividend, had business at Is OJd, buyers staying in at that figure, sellers at Is 2d. King Solomon, cum dividend, were a shade stronger, with dealings at 3s 5d and 3s s|d. and further buyers at the higher price. Mahakipawas were firm at Mount Lyells moved up to 18s 3d, and closed stronger, with buyers at, 18s 4d, sellers at 18s sd. Mount Morgans were firmer, with dealings at prices ranging from 38s 3d to 33s 9d, closing quotations 38s 4d buyers, 38s Od sellers. Skippers remained unaltered at 2,? d. Unlisted Stocks South Seas' Fishing had business at 10s. Woolworths (Sydney) ordinary were weaker, with sellers at £5 7s 6d, buyers at £5 2s.

CLEARING SALE AT BURNHAM A successful sale was conducted by Dalgety and Company, Ltd., on Friday at "Claverton," on account of Mr J. D. Stewart, who has sold his farm. There was a very large attendance of farmers who, appreciating the quality of the live and dead stock offered, bid freely.
