HEALTH STAMP CAMPAIGN
SUB-COMMITTEE MEETS \ A meeting of the sub-committee of the Sunlight League, for the organisation of the sale of health stamps was held, with Dr. H. E. W. Roberton in the chair. Also present. were; Miss C. Wilding, Miss H. Buchanan, Mrs Taylor, Mr Baverstock, Mr H. J. Cole, Mr St. J. J. Dunne, Mr McKellar (treasurer), and Miss D. Fleetwood (secretary). Apologies were received from Mrs J. Montgomery, Miss L. M. Ollivier, and Miss M. Enright Mr Cole was appointed assistant secretary and undertook to, call- on the principals of various local bodies to get them interested in the health camp campaign, which is to be started about September 29, and requesting them to send a representative to act on the committee. It was resolved that Mr Baverstock be in charge of the advertising and that all firms and offices be circularised.
A grant for the street collection this year could not be obtained, and the secretary was instructed to apply early in April for a day next year. The following sub-committee was appointed for the sale of health stamps during Christmas week:—Miss H. Buchanan, Miss L. Ollivier, Miss B. Nicholls, Mrs Taylor, and Miss D. Fleetwood. The Dominion organiser, Mr Hooker, had reported that the campaign was being taken up enthusiastically in other districts, and that the Minister for Health (Sir Alexander Young) was also behind the scheme. It was also stated that the newspapers would be invited to open a subscription list and to acknowledge donations through the papers. «
