SUPERANNUATION FUND FOR MEMBERS
SUGGESTION CONDEMNED BY MR STUART [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, September 12. - The suggested superannuation fund for-retiring members of Parliament was 'opposed by Mr A. Stuart (C, ■Rangitikei) in the House of Representatives to-day. "PTvould be very sorry if ever a superannuation was started for members of. ParlisfQent," Mr Stuart said. "I would never, vote for it. I know that many members who have served their country in have made great sacrifices in doing so, and have even let their own business go to ruin, However, we know that several members have come into this House because they were not able to run a business. With a superannuation scheme many more would try to get in. I hope the scheme will never be considered by the Government."
