SCHOOL HEATING
[Subject to the right of reply of A. A. Bickerton, this correspondence is now closed.—Ed., "The Press."]
TO THX aWTOB 0» THE PBIBB. Sir,—At the school at which my child attends there is some regulation that the heating of the school ceases at the end of the winter term, and in consequence the school has been like a refrigerator the last two days. Can you say whether this is general? Surely the headmaster should have sufficient initiative and authority to see that the fires are lighted in weather like this.—Yours, etc., PARENT. September 11, 1935. ["We do not reply to anonymous correspondence," said Mr L. E. Rowley, secretary to the Canterbury Education Board, f 'but if the complainant writes direct to the board the matter will be enquired into."]
