EMPIRE DEFENCE
TO TUB IBITO* OF II! PKSSS. 'Sir,—As a constant reader of your paper, I would like to congratulate you on your very fine article, commenting on General Andrews speech. The general's extraordinary views concerning the League of Nations are not, fortunately, held by all returned soldiers. At the British Empire Service League's- seventh biennial conference, attended by many prominent soldiers from all over the* world, an account of which appeared in the "N.Z.R.S.A. Review" of February, 1935, a motion, relating to peace and disarmament, was carried. Pari of the motion runs as follows: — "And as an Empire organisation we do affirm "our continued support of every movement which will tend to produce lasting peace, including the League of Nations, international disarmament, and the effective control of the manufacture of munitions and instruments of war." —Yours, etc.. RETURNED SOLDIER. 1 September 12, 1935.
