The Hastings hockey representatives withstood the final challenge for the Nordon Cup" for the season when they defeated Rodney (North Auckland) by 3 goals to 2. The holders showed much better combination than the visitors, who played well individually, but were no match in concerted efforts for the home side. Hastings was much faster than Rodney. McNab scored three goals for Hastings, who lead 3—o until near the end, when Rodney took advantage of slackness by the home side to register two goals, Jones and Matthews Scoring Hastings was definitely superior, and the visitors were rather lucky to get within one, gqal b£ t&e home side.
