AGRARIAN UPRISING IN MEXICO

A popular agrarian uprising forced Senor Manuel Lastra, Governor of the stale of Tobasco, out of office, and threatened the position of Dr. Rafail Villarea], Governor of Tamaulipas. The uprising is seen as a general cleaning out of governors to rid the country of the last traces of the power of General Calles, who was Mexico's strong man for eight years until he lost the political combat with President Cardenas a month £go.
