DOGS IN LAMBING SEASON
■ FARMERS' ANXIETIES •n The importance to farmers cf preventing strangers with dogs wandering over their properties in the lambing season was emphasised at the meeting of the North Canterbury executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union yesterday. The president (Mr G. C. Warren) 1 said that arrangements had been made for him to give a radio talk on the subject early in September. This would enable him to ask those who went out shooting at week-ends to stay at home during the lambing season, and to point out how much real harm could be donetet such a time by men going about on farms with guns and dogs. Mr F. G. Armstrong said that it was not necessary for farmers to give notice of intention to prosecute for trespass during the lambing season, for | the law provided a fine of £5 for persons found trespassing with a gun.
