CONSTABLE'S CLAIM

COMPENSATION CASE SENT TO APPEAL COURT AUCKLAND, July 23. In view of the novel points raised and of the wide public importance of the action in which Constable Ernest Stewart, of Auckland, sought to recover damages for injuries received while trying to arrest a motor-car thief, Mr Justice Fair has decided to refer it to the Court of Appeal. Constable Stewart's claim is against E. G. Bridgens, a manufacturer, the owner of the stolen car.
