The Rangitiki Athletic and Sports Club will hold a dance in the Excelsior Hall this evening. The ship's orchestra will play the latest London dance music. Launch for Chatham Islands The fishing launch Linda, % which was formerly engaged in fishing out of Lyttelton, was taken aboard by the Tees, which sailed yesterday lor the Chatham Islands. The launch, which is 33 feet in length, was recently purchased by Messrs R. Cannon and S. McAlister to replace their launch, which struck the rocks and foundered at Rabbit Island, and has been fitted with a new engine.

Excursion to Greymoath and Hokitika One of the most popular outings of the year, the annual excursion from Lvttelton and Christchurch to Greymouth and Hokitika, arranged by the Combined Fanciers' Clubs, will take place on Saturday. The train will leave Lyttelton at 5.45 a.m. and Christchurch at 6.5 a.m., arriving at Greymouth at 11.53 a.m. and Hokitika at 12.48 p.m. On the return journey the train will leave Hokitika at 10 p.m. and Greymouth at 11 p.m. The chairseated carriages will be steam-heated and seats may be reserved at a small extra charge. The excursion affords Canterbury people a wonderful opportunity of spending a day at the West Coast. Display of Election Betnms Arrangements have been made for the prompt display this evening of returns in the Lyttelton by-eleetion at "The Press" office, Oxford street The returns from each polling place will be available witliin a minute or two of their being received by the returning, officer in Christchurch. Progress figin-es will also be displayed until the final result is announced.
