BANKERS' WHEELBARROW DERBY
to thj scrtoii or th» pr«ss. Sir,—lnterest in to-morrow's bankers' barrow Derby In Hereford street is at fever heat, and pickers of form arcalready nominating their favourite;;. A rumour went round Hereford street late yesterday that some of the pushers Lad been "got at" and would bo running "stiff." I have it on the best authority that there is no truth in this rumour, which was apparently circulated by interested parties, and that everyone in the race is an honest trier. Some exceedingly fast times are expected to be recorded, as tha track is expected to be in perfect order, and the contestants have done a good preparation. Any boring in or interference will, I understand, be heavily penalised. Complete arrangements have been made to control the crowd, and the race will start punctually at 4 o'clock. —Yours, etc., OVERDRAFT. July 23, 1935.
