OUTLET TO LAKE FORSYTH
WOUlv OF CLEARING BEGUN Work %vas begun yesterday on the clearing of the bank of shingle which is blocking the outlet from Lake Forsyth to the sea. The day was tine at Little River yesterday, and besides assisting the work, the fineness of the weather also relieved the fear of sudden flooding. If the weather remains fine until the water from the lake has been cleared there will be no danger a flood, but heavy rain in the next day or two might have serious results for some settlers near the lake. Although water is still over the road near Birdling's Flat, it is not serious enough to stop traffic, and service and private cars are able to proceed without hindrance.
