CARD EVENING At the Knikouva Hockey Club's card evening-, held nt the Oddfellows' Hall, the winners were Mrs Andrew Stewart !, Mr A. E. Anstiss. The cardigan competition was won by Mr C. Schroder. House-warm in (j More lhan 100 friends gathered at the residence of Mr and Mrs F. Brouyhan to welcome thsrn home. Cards and dancing were held, songs being sung by Misses L. Williams, K. Keehan. Messrs C. Carrock, W. Smith. C. Keehan. and A Edgar; recitations by Misses R and E. Lanyon, K.Smith, anu Air M. Raincy. Music was played by M'sses Mary Mackle, M. and E. Wareham, L. Williams, and K. Smith. OdcU'ctlowshJp At the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Bro. J. Harris presided. Sick pay, amounting to £l2 lis 7d, was passed for payment. A vote of sympathy was passed with relatives of Mr Patrick Peoples. Personal Mr J. A. Ross, manager of the Kaikoura Co-operative Dairy Company, has tendered his resignation to accept the position of manager of the Taihape Dairy Company. Recently Mr Ross secured a cup and gold and silver medals for his exhibits of butter in shows in the North and South Islands.
