REUNION DINNER
The most successful reunion dinner ever organised by Ihe West Christchurch District High School Old Girla' Association was held on Thursday evening at Melody Lane Cafe. The president, Miss Nancy Ructon, welcomed the new members and hoped that their future associations with the old girls would be of the happiest. The toast list was as follows;—" The King," proposed by the president, Miss N. Ruston; "The School," proposed by Miss K. Lee, responded to by Miss A. C. Finlayson (headmistress); "The A.'jsociation," proposed by Miss H. M. Mayne, responded to by Miss R. Green (secretary); "The Old Boys' Association," proposed by Miss S. Hull, responded to by Miss M. Fraser; "Sports Club," proposed by Miss M. Hooper, responded to by Miss M. Buchanan; "Absent Old Girls," proposed by Miss E. Brydon; "Patron," proposed by Miss M. Hudson, responded to by Mrs L. F. de Berry (patron); "President," proposed by Miss R. McCarnrnon, responded to by Miss N. Ruston. Following the dinner, the evening was spent in community singing and musical items were given by Mrs Matthews, Misses Irma and Gwen Barnes, and a recitation by Miss Gladys Carey. Two amusing competitions were won by Misses Jessie Buchanan and Gladys Twose. Those present included Mesdames L. F. de Berry, E. Beattie, Matthews, Misses A. C. Finlayson, H. M. Mayne, Gladys Rundle, Nancy Ruston, Rona Green, Ethel Brydon, Kathleen Lee, Irrna and Gwen Barnes, Marjorie Fraser, Sybil Hull, Rae McCammon, Oorothy Peppitt, Muriel Hooper, Olive Robson, Muriel Hudson, Margaret Buchanan, Freda Judkins, Kathleen Way, Thelma Gregg, Frances Dougall, Edith Collins, Jessie Jenrey, Nancy and Phyllis Black, Aileen French, Betty Cossar, Gladys Carey, Jessie Buchanan, Berth Brackenridge, Gwladys Twose, Esme Dann, Nancy Rcstall, Jean Ivory, and Thelma Rathgen.
