A letter from the children of the Trentham School asking for the allocation of a milk ration was received by the Wellington Hospital Board. The letter, written by one of the children, was accompanied by a report from the school medical officer that the majority of the children would be improved greatly in health if they were given half a pint of milk daily. The board decided to refer the Question to the Smith Family relief organisation and the Minister for Education. The board did not include lh its scope the supply of milk to school children.
