Mr Eden's attempts to reach a settlement of the Abyssinia dispute with Signor Mussolini were fruitless. The communique dismissed the subject with the sentence: "During the discussion the Abyssinian question was also examined." Concerning other affairs, the communique says both agreed to continue the work of European appeasement according to the policy fixed in London and Stresa. MUSSOLINI SUGGESTS A MANDATE PARIS. June 25. The. Rome correspondent ol the newspaper "Agencc Economique et Financiere" says that Signor Mussolini suggested to Mr Eden that the Abyssinian dispute could be settled by the league giving a mandate over Abyssinia. REPORTED ORDER TO ITALIANS TEN DAYS' NOTICE TO LEAVE ABYSSINIA I.ATEK OFFICIAL DENIAL Conllietmg reports were received yesterday about the position in the dispute between Abyssinia and Italy, which the interested parties recently agreed, at the instance of the League of Nations, to submit to arbitration. One United Press Association message; from Rome stated that, the Italian Government had ordered all Italians to leave Abyssinia witlnn 10 days, presumably as a preparatory step to opening hostilities. Later, however, another Rome message stated that this report was officially denied.
