——# GREYMOUTH MAGISTRATE'S COURT .Vl-X'IAL TO TKS PUSES.) GREYMOUTH, June 2G. At a silting yesterday of the Magistrate's Court, before Mr H. Morgan, S.M., Phillip Pascoe and John Martin Olsen were charged that, on June 23, they behaved in a disorderly manner in Boundary street. Olen was also charged with resisting Constable Barr in the execution of his duty. Defendants were represented by Mr J. W. Hannan and pleaded not guilty. Senior-Sergeant E. Quayle prosecuted. The magistrate, after hearing evidence, said that it was the kind of conduct he would not stand for on the streets of Greymouth. Pascoe was fined £1 and Olsen was fined £1 on each charge. At a civil sitting of the court judgment for the plaintiff by default, with costs, was given in each of the following cases:—F. Hayes v. F. J. Thompson, £9 9s; T. G. Kitchingham v. J. Poole, £4 3s 9d; H. K. Williams v. K. Wallace. £2 2s lid; J. E. Fitzgerald and G. Fitzgerald v. Walter Douglas Blackie, £6 10s 6d; J. Keating v. J. Gallop, £7 10s. On a judgment summons, Archibald Robinson was ordored to pay Alec Marshall £ls 18s Bd, forthwith, in default 18 days' imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as debtor pays 10s a week, with the llrst payment on oi 1 before July 2. Olira Tunnel Frcifcht Last week 13,743 tons of freight was hauled through the Otira tunnel, from Westland to Canterbury, or 2410 tons more than in the corresponding week Inst year, when the total was 11,324 tons. In the corresponding week of 1933 the total was 11,780 tons. New Carriages Two of the carriages used on the Soutli Island Royal train during the Duke of Gloucester's tour, were used on the Greymouth-Christehurch express yesterday morning, for the first time. Personal Mr P. J. McLean and Mr A. J. McGillivray left yesterday for Christchurch. Miss Mildred Pascoc, of Christchurch, is spending a holiday on the West Coast. Miss R. Vivian, who has been visiting Greymouth, left yesterday on her return to Dunedin. Boxing Association A special meeting of the executive of the Greymouth Boxing Association was held last evening, with Mr A. Beban presiding.. After hearing the explanation of the president, who acted as referee in the professional wrestling contest, between Cy Williams and H. Kruskamp at Greymouth on Friday night, the executive appi'oved his action in declaring it as no contest. It was also decided that the j whole of the money be impounded until such time as the association obtains an opinion on the position, from the New Zealand Wrestling Union. The secretory (Mr F. W. Baillie) was requested to write to the Ashburton Boxing Association asking for the absolute maximum expense likely to be incurred in sending six amateur boxers to Greymouth for a tournament on July 27. On receipt of the information the match committee will go into the question, and decide whether it is possible to invite the Ashburton team. Valedictory Miss A. E. P. Cornwall, who will leave shortly for Wellington, was the guest of the Greymouth Women's Institute at a farewell social in Perotti Hall. The evening was spent in games and dancing, to music played by Mrs Coles. Mr P. Coll was master of ceremonies. Miss Cornwall received presentations from the institute, the Grey Main Old Girls' Basketball Club, the West Coast Horticultural Society, the Home end School Association, and from Mr Coll. Recently Miss Cornwall has also received gifts from the Junior Basketball Association. Ihe Teachers' Institute, and the drama circle of the Women's Institute.
